Medical Travel Considerations:

Despite the information that might make you think otherwise, the medical tourism is not always straight forward . Combine this with the internet shopping like atmosphere that was created in the medical industry today, there are very few safeguards for a layman considering medical travel. You will definitely need to do your homework before initiating the process. A few recommendations are listed below.

Assess your medical travel needs:

Make sure you have a valid medical or life style reason to pursue medical tourism. A good start is to have a solid understanding of your condition and your expectations you have for the said medical / surgical procedure. It might be a good idea to write down your thoughts and suggestions you might have received during this period.

Before surgery abroad

To do list before travel

Needed resources for your medical travel:

Budget your Medical Tourism:

This has to be your first step to start the process. It won;t do any good to you if you do all the leg work and don’t have the necessary finances in order. The budget should have enough allowances for medical care, travel, out patient stay and tourism activities if desired. Also try to anticipate the unexpected and try to have enough line of credit on your credit card.

Your medical travel requirements to travel abroad:

Many countries need visa to enter. Every country would expeect you to have a visa. You would atleast need to have your passport handy before considering your medical travel.  It usually takes 4-6 weeks to obtain the passport in the United States. This time varies between different countries. Try to apply for the passport well ahead of the time.

We at World Medical and Surgical LLC  are a Medical tourism company managed exclusively by health care professionals. We take the patient’s safety and privacy very seriously. We don’t deal with “Surgery Clinics” with questionable reputation.

Our goal is to provide safe and effective healthcare choices abroad. Note that the safety comes first here. We are also committed to educate the patients to prevent the medical tourism mishaps. Our goal is to bring about the quality oriented approach in this vastly un regulated industry.

Our track record clearly shows that we are avid advocates of patient safety. We would like to take a moment to reiterate few patient service publications we have authored.
